When saying Prague Spring, we certainly do not refer to DubÄÂek's political reform from a little bit over 40 years ago. No, we say that spring is probably the best time to visit the Czech capital and what we mean to take you on a one-day trip in this exciting city.Many other re-born Central and Eastern European cities claim to be the new hot spots, attracting travelers from around the world with their fascinating historical heritage, distinct local cuisine and, for course, for being a great bargain. Meanwhile, maybe because of its thrilling history, glorious architectural amalgam or golden pilsner, the Czech capital remained as compelling as ever. Prague is the new Prague.Where to stay? Try one of our centrally located, private city apartments. The city is really worth some time to explore, but even a day is enough to immerse yourself in the Prague's fairy-tale atmosphere and experience the exciting vibe of the capital. The city has good and cheap transportation, but you don't want to miss out on the beautiful Gothic design buildings. So make sure you pack comfortable, cobblestone-proofed shoes and prepare for some walking.Start with a glance from Wenceslas Square up to the National Museum, before continuing to the Estates Theatre. Next stop is the Astronomical Clock and Old Town Square. Take a look at the Church of Our Lady Before, and then leave the square through its northwest corner, noting Franz Kafka's birthplace. Walk through the Old Jewish Cemetery and then head across Mánes Bridge while admiring the neighbouring, and usually very crowded, Charles Bridge. Pop into the Wallenstein Garden and then head to the castle. Post-castle follow Nerudova downhill and refuel with beer or coffee. Continue downhill to Malostranské náměstà for a circular detour through southern Malá Strana. Head through Maltese Square, past the Lennon Wall. Retrace your footsteps north and cross Charles Bridge back to Old Town Square.Having ticked at least the most important Prague sights before 6pm, you deserve to treat yourself to a golden beer and a plate piled with local delicacies.
